Kumana national park is located in Eastern Province, Hambantota, Sri lanka. The park's wetland areas are surrounded by dry zone. Kumana Bird Sanctuary, declared in 1938, is included within the Kumana National park. Kumana is one of the most impotent bird nesting and breeding ground in Sri Lanka. 255 species of birds have been recorded in the national park.
